What problem?
Stress, anxiety and depression are the second most commonly reported illnessess in the British workplace. You may have heard many say "Stress is the new bad back". The Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) definition of stress is:
"The adverse reaction people have to excessive pressures or other types of demands placed on them".
Of course, stress affects us all in many different ways. What may be a walk in the park for one person may lead to so much stress for another that it affects their health and, worse still, has them signed off work. Clearly then, it is in every company's interest to ensure their staff are given every opportunity and training to recognise stress both in themselves and in others. It is also the law and their duty of care to do so.
